Hi Everyone;
Well we are approaching the last meeting of our calendar year.
Please join us at the 101 Diner in Worcester, Ma. where we will
be dining on a special treat of Dry Smoked BBQ by Chef Member
Chris Blanchard, CEC. This restored diner is the last of its
kind and the evening will be educational and tasty too! Come
join us June 22nd, the first day of summer!
We are already gearing up for the fall, our first meeting will
be in September at the Jacob Worth’s Restaurant in the heart
of Boston . Our 115th Annual President Ball will be held at the
Colonnade Hotel on November 9th; Jimmy DiMarzio, VP and Sean
Gallagher are working on October and November meeting places.
Also, if you know of anyone who could do educational demos at
our monthly meetings please let us know we can be reached at
the email listed at the end of this message.
We had a wonderful Scholarship event on May 11th hosted by Chef
Member Nicolas Calias; CEC at the Colonnade Hotel in Boston .
The meal was spectacular and the hor’s/cocktail hour was
beyond your imagination. I know all the scholarship recipients
where very impressed. The Chef had on hand all his fabulous crew,
and Dame Madonna Berry also a culinary arts instructor for Newbury
College volunteered to work in the kitchen that night, what team
work. The front of the house at the hotel did a wonderful job
on the service as well.
So, bearing all this in mind remember to mark your calendars
for the November 9th Ball where we will return to the Colonnade
Hotel.
On page two and four Chairman of the Board Americo DiFronzo,
CEC, AAC has listed the Sponsors of the Scholarship Event, The
Scholarship Committee and the recipients. You as an Epicurean
Club of Boston Member can be really proud of this event.
Also, upcoming this fall we will again be hosting an ACF Approved
Hot food Competition at Boston University to be held on October
4th, 2009 . We have co-chairs for this event and they are: Douglas
Patten, CEC, CCA and Jeff Cincotta, CEC. They would love it if
