April 2009
Hi Every one;
Lots of things are happening, if you have not been to the website
recently you should take the new short cut and go www.acfecb.com;
our webmaster Warren Frank has listed our PERFERRED PURVEYORS
right there on the first page and also is at work interfacing
a job search page you can click on. Why? Because in this economy
we need to help each other. Purveyors and members working together
that is what it is all about. Warren is also working on a value
added link, if you have any ideas what should be in here please
let us know at graffeo0074@comcast.net.
Our last meeting was held at MuliGrains Bakery in Lawrence ,
Ma. 01841, where the monies we received at the door where donated
in total to our scholarship fund, they will also become a preferred
purveyor in the coming months. We toured the amazing facility,
had a great meal, cocktails, and another round table discussion
with the members that were in attendance. It was a great night.
Thank you Tom Conomacos, VP your hospitality was awesome!
Next, we have a meeting on April 20th, 2009 at the Radisson in
Plymouth , Ma where our member Jim Young, CWC, is the banquet
chef. Jim and the crew of the Radisson hosted us two years ago
and many members are still talking about the experience. There
will be educational points and we the ECB will be presenting
our Service to the Industry Award to Nobel Massi, CEC, CCE, AAC,
HOF , since he was not on hand at the ACF Conference to receive
it, but luckily he lives in Plymouth !
Also, please mark your calendars for the important scholarship
dinner on May 11th at the Colonnade Hotel where member and Executive
Chef Nicholas Calias, CEC will host a wonderful meal and we will
meet the 2009 scholarship recipients for 2009! We are able to
fund our scholarship program this year because of the help we
received from all of you at the ACF Conference and our monthly
raffle.
June we will be going to the 101 Diner in Worcester, where our
member Christopher Blanchard, CEC will be host, and we are booking
the September meeting at Jacob Wirths Restaurant
in Boston, hosted by member Chef Daniel Osella. (The restaurant
has arranged for parking.)
We are planning on another ACF/ECB HOT FOOD COMPITION in the
fall, more to come as we make progress in securing the local
and the date.
Soon, you will receive in the mail a ballot for ACF President,
PLEASE VOTE. The last two months I have included words
from all the candidates all of whom want your vote; read their
positions, then VOTE!
Denise Graffeo CEC,AAC
President
